Museums + Heritage Awards are gearing up, and there's a public vote "to choose the UK institution you think is a shining example within the sector for its approach to audience engagement in 2014-15". Public awards are a huge boost to a museum or venue, both recognising their work so far and helping to secure funding and grants for future work. The public made their own suggestions about who should be in the vote, and the top 5 who were most often mentioned are the finalists to vote for: • Yorkshire Sculpture Park • The People’s History Museum • Kelmscott Manor • King Richard III Visitor Centre • The Haslemere Educational Museum You have until March 20th to vote, and can do so with two clicks! (I am, by the by, all about the People's History Museum, who with very a serious upcoming £200,000 funding crisis - due to government funding cuts - need all the love they deserve and help they can get.) |
